Penetrant Examination (PT)

Examination with penetrant liquids reveals open discontinuities on the surface, even on areas that are difficult to see during visual inspection. The method is fast, sensitive and efficient, suitable for a wide range of materials and complex geometries.

Main applications:

  • Detection of open discontinuities, including those that are visually invisible

  • Inspection of welded joints made of non-ferrous materials (ceramics, aluminum, etc.)

Types of examinations:

  • Penetrating liquids contrast

  • Penetrating liquids fluorescent (with UV light)

Advantages:

  • Very sensitive to small discontinuities

  • Few usage limitations

  • Fast execution and low costs

  • Complex geometries can also be tested

Used equipments:

  • Cleaning agent and water to remove excess penetrant

  • Red or fluorescent penetrant

  • Developer

  • UV lamp and lux meter

At AMG Welding Training SRL, we apply each examination with professionalism and attention to details, ensuring safe and accurate results for every project.
